SERIAN: A 32-year-old man, believed to be involved in substance abuse, has been remanded for four days since last Sunday.
Serian District Police Chief DSP Aswandy Anis said the suspect was arrested in an operation by the Serian Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) around 5.30pm near a shop at Pasar Tarat.
According to him, two packets of methamphetamine, weighing 0.77g, were found hidden on the suspect’s body.
“The suspect also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” said Aswandy in a statement yesterday.
He added that the suspect had never been involved in any criminal activities before.
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession.
