MIRI: Narcotics police here arrested three men including a foreigner and seized various drugs worth over RM420,000 in separate raids on Wednesday.
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a press conference, said the seized drugs are 2.53kg of syabu, 1.6kg of ketamine, 600g of ecstasy and 62.40g of Erimin 5.
All of the drugs have an estimate seizure value of RM425,064 and they are believed to be marketed around the district.
“The seizure of drugs was the result of two raids carried on an unnumbered house in Jalan Ulu Niah at 11.30 am and on a shophouse in Jalan Bulan Sabit at 4.15 pm.
“Following that, the suspects aged 33, 34 and 40, were arrested and they are being remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations,” he said.
In addition, the team also confiscated jewelleries worth RM24,061.60 from the suspects.
Alexson pointed out that the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment, upon conviction.
