MIRI: The police here have confiscated drugs believed to be methamphetamine or syabu, worth RM12,842 following the arrest of a local man during a raid on Tuesday morning.
The seized drugs weighed at 64.21 grammes.
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect, aged 28, was detained by a team from Miri Narcotics Crimes Investigation Department at around 9.45 am during a raid carried out on a shophouse here.
“During a search conducted inside the premises, the police found the substance inside one of the rooms,” he said in a statement on Tuesday night.
The suspects has also tested positive for drugs.
The case will be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
