KUCHING: Thousands lined the banks of the Sarawak River last night (Nov 2) to witness the grand finale of the Sarawak Drum Festival (FGS) 2024.

The Regatta Cultural Stage was the epicentre of a dazzling display of cultural performances.

The night was filled with a diverse range of musical performances, from traditional to contemporary.

Highlights included a captivating Pampat Drum performance by the Iban Batang Rajang Arts and Culture Club (KIBAR), a 24 ‘Musim’ Drum performance by the Kuching Chinese Martial Arts Group, and mesmerising performances by Belle Sisoski and Tuku Kame.

Local legend Datuk Jamal Abdillah graced the stage with his timeless hits, “Azura” and “Aku Penghibur.”
The event also showcased the talents of renowned sape player Mathew Ngau Jau.

The grand finale was a spectacular Joget dance performance, “Mun Maseh Muda,” by the Art Group from the Department of Culture and Arts of Sarawak (JKKN), accompanied by Tuku Kame.

Meanwhile, Roxy Ixzy paid tribute to Saloma with a rendition of “Darah Muda.”

The event was attended by Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Mayor Datuk Haji Hilmi Haji Othman, Director General of the Department of Culture and Arts Mohd Amran Mohd Harris, and other dignitaries.
