KUCHING: A local woman finally lost her patience with her husband when he returned home drunk and assaulted her again.
The 24-year-old who shared a home with Hutchinson, also 24, had until the Jan 2 incident hoped he would change for the better.
The Magistrate’s Court here heard that previously he had often returned home intoxicated and beat his wife but she did not lodge any police report.
The latest incident, in which which he intentionally injured his wife by twisting her hand and punching her stomach took place at their residence along Jalan Kuching-Samarahan, at around 10.30 pm that day.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali sentenced Hutchinson who hails from Sri Aman after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
She also ordered the factory worker to be put in prison for two months if he failed to pay the fine.
The prosecution of the case was handled by Prosecuting Officer Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang.
