TATAU: Former Tatau police chief DSP Dennis Bunyam has been appointed the new deputy police chief of Bintulu District.

He is replaced by DSP Jame Reis as Tatau police chief.

Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief SAC Lukas Aket witnessed the handover ceremony at the Tatau district police headquarters last Wednesday.

Lukas commended Dennis for the changes during his tenure as Tatau police chief, particularly in terms of development and career of police officers in Tatau.

“Dennis also brought about good cooperation with government agencies here, this excellent task will now be continued by Jame,” he said.

Dennis has served in Tatau since 2015, while Jame has served for 13 years at the Bintulu district police headquarters.

Dennis thanked the staff at Tatau police headquarters staff for their cooperation during his tenure.

Meanwhile, Jame called on the police personnel in Tatau to continue supporting each other to achieve the mission and vision of the leadership.

He also hoped that the media would continue to cooperate, support and interact with him to convey important and accurate information to the community.

“Currently we are facing the Covid-19 pandemic, our challenges are piling up so I hope the people of Tatau will join forces with me to face this pandemic,” he said.

The ceremony also saw the handing over of the duty between outgoing Tatau district Police Family Association (Perkep) chairperson Olivia Nayun to Lumin Tarip.
