KUCHING: The Dayak Think Tank Association Sarawak (DTTAS) is looking to organise an education fair that will be held from one district to another.
DTTAS Education Fair 2022 publicity secretary Malvina Albert Klinsing said the event aimed to provide space and opportunities for students and youths in rural areas to obtain information, training and assistance.
“Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) graduates who are not excellent academically will have the opportunity to choose a course or field that suits their qualifications and interests.
“Having completed their education at this level, we are confident that our youths who get poor results are still skeptical and plagued by various decisions whether or not they want to continue their education to a higher level or enter the job market,” she said on Wednesday (June 22).
She added that career planning could be done easily if graduates get the right guidance.
“The more information a person obtains related to their chosen career, the better their career planning will be.
“In particular, making a career plan requires information about the job from relevant aspects such as knowledge, skills, training and so on which are then combined with the information of the individual looking for the job, which is the second aspect that is also important.
“Therefore, guidance and direction is very important for this group today, because the wrong choice of path will lead to problems for them in the future.”
“This programme is organised by DTTAS and participated by Yahos School of Skills and 12 institutions and agencies.”
She added that DTTAS wanted youths to move actively using the platform provided by the government so that the mission and goals of DTTAS to produce skilled youths can be realised.
