SIBU: Incumbent Datuk Tiong Thai King of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) will defend his Dudong seat in the 12th State Election due in July next year.
Speaking at PSB Dudong branch Chinese New Year Dinner on Saturday night, party president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh said Tiong’s candidacy had been endorsed by the party.
With that announcement, Tiong is the sixth PSB candidate to be announced by Wong to contest in PRN12.
Wong had previously announced that Datuk Masir Kujat would contest for the Balai Ringin seat, Dr Johnical Rayong Nyipa (Engkilili), Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe (Tasik Biru), Datuk William Nyalau Badak (Batang Ai) and Datuk Ranum Mina (Opar).
In another development, Wong said the PSB might contest up to 60 seats.
“PSB is still studying the situation and looking at every seat closely,” he said.
Also present were PSB Youth chief and Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong Nyipa, PSB secretary-general George Lo and Sri Aman MP Datuk Masir Kujat.
