SIBU: The pre-Gawai Dayak gathering for the Dudong constituency is scheduled for Friday, May 13.
It will be held at Kingwood Ballroom, level 6 starting from 6pm.
This was revealed to reporters yesterday (May 6) by Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong Branch chairman Councillor Teo Boon Siew who is also the organising chairman of the Pre Gawai gathering for Dudong constituency.
According to him, about 150 tables will be prepared for about 1,500 attendees from 205 longhouses in the Dudong constituency.
“This event is organised by PDP Dudong together with Yayasan Nayun,” he said after the pre Gawai committee meeting held at PDP Dudong service centre.
Teo also disclosed that the Dudong assemblyman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing will be attending the event as the guest of honour.
“This Pre Gawai event is held because Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is unable to visit all the longhouses during the upcoming Gawai celebration. Hence we gather everyone during this coming event and celebrate it together,” he explained.
Among the activities planned are lucky draws, singing performances from Menyan Band, Academic incentives for members or their children, a multi-ethnic traditional dress fashion show, and many more.
