SRI AMAN: Two dump trucks caught fire early morning at Jalan Sri Aman-Serian today.

The State Fire and Rescue operations centre (Bomba) said the Sri Aman station responded to both incidents by promptly dispatching a team of firefighters to both scenes.

“The station received a distress call on the first case at Kampung Entulang Lalang and sent a team to the scene at 5.54am.

“A report from the operations commander said the fire started from the engine and spread to the driver’s cabin.

“The lorry was at least 40 per cent damaged. But the lorry driver escaped unharmed,” Bomba said, adding the operation ended at 6.25am.

Forty minutes after the first incident, Sri Aman Bomba once again dispatched a team after receiving a distress call on a similar incident at 7.05am.

This time a dump truck caught fire in front of the Malaysian computerised vehicle inspection company, PUSPAKOM.

The lorry driver’s cabin also caught fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes. The driver escaped unhurt. Both the vehicle and cabin were slightly damaged.
