SIBU: A vegetable farmer and a jobless man are in police custody for causing mischief by smashing the front windscreens of two cars.
Sibu OCPD Asst Com Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said in the first case, which happened at 4.20am on Jan 1 at Jalan Bujang Suntong, the duo, who showed up in a four-wheel drive, smashed the front windscreen of the complainant’s car.
Stanley said they did this because the victim, 22, had stolen their headphones.

Then at 6.20am on Jan 3, in front of a petrol kiosk at Taman Indah, the two suspects alighted from their four-wheel drive and smashed the windscreen of a car belonging to another victim, 48.
“The victim was told that they did it as they were not happy he was driving too slowly,” he added.
Stanley said at 1.20pm on January 3, a police team went to a house in Jalan Teku to conduct a raid.
The 20-year old jobless suspect put up a struggle to resist police arrest.
This led to the arrest of the second suspect, a 36-year old vegetable farmer on the same day from a house in Jalan Hock Ming.
