KUCHING: Two unemployed men were arrested on suspicion of being involved in drug abuse at a house in Kampung Skiat, Bau on Monday.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the two suspects, aged 18 and 21, were arrested around 10am in a raid carried out by a team of personnel from the Bau Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID).
“Further inspection found a transparent plastic packet with a plastic straw inside it containing clear crystal materials suspected to be methamphetamine.
“The item was found on a table at the place where the two suspects were,” he said today.
He said the drugs, estimated to weigh 0.47g and valued at RM60, was confiscated.
Poge asserted that both suspects, who had previous criminal records, were detained under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He added that the duo had also tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
