LUNDU: Police arrested two locals believed to be involved in the murder of a worker at an oil palm plantation here, on Mar 10.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri said the suspects aged 24 and 25 were apprehended yesterday (Mar 29) in front of the Biawak Customs, Immigration And Quarantine (CIQ) Complex.

Also seized from the suspects was a weapon believed to be used in the alleged murder.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty, upon conviction.

Azman said the incident happened in front of an oil palm plantation in Lundu around 9.20
pm on Mar 10.

“The suspects had acted aggressively by attacking the 25-year-old victim, resulting in his death at the scene,” he said.

He assured that a thorough investigation will be carried out and the findings will be presented to the deputy public prosecutor for further action.
