MIRI: Two men have been arrested to assists police probe in connection with a rape case involving a 14 year-old girl.

The duo was detained on Friday (March 29) evening in Permyjaya.

The city police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah revealed that the suspects are aged 17 and 23 year-olds.

“Both men are currently detained to facilitate police investigation on the alleged incident,” he said.

The suspects are being escorted off to Miri Central police station (CPS) for questioning.

The case is being investigated under Section 375B for gang rape.

According to sources, the victim, a school dropout, has claimed being raped by the suspects.

The incident unfolded when the victim’s uncle found her wandering around Tamu Lutong on Friday afternoon (March 29) around 3pm.

When the uncle found her, she had related her ordeal and claimed was raped by the suspects.

It was made to understand that the girl was reported missing on March 25 night by her aunt.
