KUCHING: Two friends were seriously injured when they went against the flow of traffic after midnight yesterday.
The duo, both in their 20s, was on a motorcycle along Jalan Keretapi when it collided with a car.
The driver of the car failed to see the oncoming motorcycle as it was a one-way road and drove straight into them, causing one of them to be flung onto the windscreen.
Passers-by assisted the duo and called for an ambulance. The front part of the car was badly damaged and the motorcycle was badly damaged due to the collision.
Both motorcyclist and the pillion rider were rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital and are in a critical condition. Both are still unconscious at press time. The driver of the car also sustained injuries. He said he was trying to avoid the motorcycle but it suddenly appeared in front of him and he could not brake in time.
Police are investigating the case.
