SIBU: Two men, including a foreigner, sustained injuries after their pick-up truck skidded off the road and crashed into a ditch on Saturday.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Sibu station were dispatched to the scene in the town centre after receiving a distress call at 12.50 pm.
Upon arrival, they found the driver and his passenger were trapped and extrication work was performed to rescue them from Toyota Hilux.
Once freed, the victims were handed over to the paramedics for treatment on-site before being taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 1.29 pm.
