MIRI: Two men were rushed to the Miri Hospital after they tried to commit suicide by swallowing painkillers in two separate incidents yesterday. Both men, who are being treated in the wards, are reported to be in a stable condition.
According to a source, in the first case, a man, in his 20s, was rushed to the hospital at about 9pm after he swallowed three types of pills including ten pills of a painkiller. “The man was believed to have done that after quarrelling with his girlfriend who wanted to end their relationship.
“Meanwhile, in the second case, a man, in his 30s, tried to kill himself by swallowing 20 pills of a painkiller.
“The man was sent to a private hospital at around 2am after he was found unconscious inside his car. He was subsequently referred to Miri Hospital for further treatment,” added the source. Both cases have been reported to the police for further investigations.
