SIBURAN: The brave and quick action by a neighbour managed to save a two-year-old girl from a house fire in Kampung Cina here yesterday (Jan 7).

Sixty-year-old Lowe Lian Khian noticed the fiery incident around 8.15 am and acted quickly to rescue the victim, who was at home with her mother.

The mother also managed to escape the fire after Lowe saved her daughter from the burning house. Both victims did not suffer any injuries.

Firemen from Siburan station was deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call to commence the extinguishing effort.

Upon arriving, the team found that the house was completely destroyed and successfully put out the flames at 9.30 am.

It was reported that the house was inhabited by five tenants, however, there were only two tenants (the victims) at home during the incident.

The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.

Also present at the scene were Padawan policemen and Sarawak Energy Berhad personnel.
