KOTA SAMARAHAN: The career development potential that e-Sports offers is enticing thus aspiring youths should pursue it seriously.
In stating this Tanjung Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan pointed out that there are many benefits in being involved in e-Sports and gaming.
“Even though there are parents who may not be too agreeable or supportive of their children being too indulged in gaming, we can see that this can generate income. For instance, the PUBG Malaysia National Championship held in 2019 offered winners as much as USD20,000 for prize money.
“Besides that, it has many benefits such as improving the hand and eye coordination especially like action and first-person shooter games,” he said.
He said this when officiating at the PUBG Mobile e-Sports competition at D’Virtual Park here on Saturday (March 12).
Azizul disclosed that the youths in his constituency are very active in e-Sports and there is a community called Lundu e-Sports Community.
“I am very supportive of the various activities that they have organised. In fact, we have a space with good Internet connectivity for them and thus far there have been four to five events held,” he said.
“I do hope similar e-Sport competitions organised at D’Virtual Park can be brought to my constituency. This is to provide the youths in my constituency with exposure and experience,” he said.
Also present were competition organiser from Ditech Resources Muhd Fitri Mirhassan, Sarawak E-Sports Association (SESA) president Afiq Fadhli Narawi, Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd Kuching branch group manager Muliawadi Imran and Serba Dinamik IT Solution general manager Abdul Qaiyum Alidin.
