KUCHING: The Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) recently hosted the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to encourage private-sector development on sustainability projects in the state.
As a member of the World Bank Group, the IFC offers investment, advisory, and asset-management services for advancement in the private-sector.
SBC said the IFC Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore delegation was represented by senior country officer Anna Ng, senior industrial decarbonisation specialist Asia and Pacific Antonio Della Pelle and country analyst Eugene Ng during the visit.
“We had a productive discussion on how IFC could support economic development through the private sector on sustainable projects,” SBC said in a statement today (Feb 22).
On another occasion, SBC hosted Dr Mary Jane Cardosa on her visit to the centre from Feb 13 to 18.
“She is a member of the Sarawak Biodiversity Council with a distinguished area of expertise in infectious disease surveillance and emerging diseases. She is also an inventor in biotechnology.
“It was indeed our pleasure to have Dr Cardosa here and we will continue to engage in many more meaningful meetings,” SBC said.
