KUCHING: The history of the establishment of Malaysia needs to be included in the education system at all levels including schools and universities.

In stating this, Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Julaihi Narawi said the matter is a very important aspect to be learned and understood by all levels of society.

“With such an approach, the current generation will be more appreciative of the cultural differences and backgrounds that are the wealth and attraction of this country.

“I think that if it (the history of the establishment of Malaysia) is included in the education system, then the current generation will have a better understanding of how Malaysia was formed on September 16, 1963, which has now reached the age of 60,” he said.

He said this when interviewed by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) here yesterday.

Earlier, Julaihi, who is also the minister-in-charge for the 2023 National Malaysia Day Celebration was also interviewed during the Selamat Pagi Malaysia show on TV1, followed by a special recording session in conjunction with the 2023 Malaysia Day Celebration with RTM.
