SIMANGGANG: Education is one of the benchmarks in determining the quality of human life and is crucial when emphasised as an aspect that should go hand in hand with religious teachings.

Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang believes that education is not only about imparting academic knowledge but also encourages moral and spiritual development in line with religious values.

He said that this approach aims to ensure that individuals are not only intellectually wise but also morally and ethically responsible according to their religious beliefs.

“At the same time, I acknowledge that the priority of education is to strengthen the foundation for the development of individuals and society as a whole,” he said.

He said this in his speech at a luncheon organised by St Mark’s Chapel Punggu at Golden City Restaurant, Sri Aman here on Saturday.

Mong also announced a Rural Transformation Project (RTP) allocation of RM300,000 from the Unit of Other Religions Affairs (UNIFOR) to build a pastor’s house at All Saints’ Gua, which will commence in the near future.
