KUCHING: The Dayak Think-Tank Association of Sarawak (DTTAS) will be organising an education fair at Riveria Sports Centre, Debak on Aug 6.
DTTAS Education Fair publicity secretary Malvina Albert Klinsing said the programme, to be held from 8.30am to 3.30pm, is jointly organised by Yahos School of Skills; Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP); Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN); Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS); Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKM); Universiti Teknologi Mara Sarawak (UiTM); and other agencies.
“This programme is specially designed to provide information on educational opportunities, training and educational assistance to youth and students throughout Sarawak, especially SPM and STPM school leavers.
“Apart from that, the education fair also aims to provide space and opportunities for students and youth in rural areas to obtain educational information, training and educational assistance,” she said in a press statement yesterday.
She added that holding such programmes would help to provide guidance to SPM and STPM school leavers to make wise decisions and at the same time not to miss out on the opportunity to get a better job after graduation.
“Also, through this programme, we want youth to move actively using the platform provided by the government so that the mission and goals of DTTAS to produce skilled youth can be realised at the maximum and encouraging level,” she said.
The DTTAS Education Fair would continue to be held from one district to another in the state.
