BINTULU: Education is the key to a brighter and more competitive future.
In stating this Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang said success in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations is the first step to pursue dreams and new opportunities in the wider world.
This examination is a test that not only measures your knowledge, but also your mental and physical endurance, he said, adding, education is a very valuable tool in shaping the future.
“Your success is a reflection of the efforts you have made all this time,” he said at the SPM and STPM Knowledge Restu Ceremony held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Bintulu, on Saturday.
He advised students, especially SPM and STPM candidates, to always believe in their potential and not to give up.
“Believe in yourself, because each of you has extraordinary abilities. Success comes with hard work, discipline and unwavering support from family and teachers,” he said.
The assemblyman also assured that the state government is always committed to providing the best facilities and support for students.
“The state government will continue to work to improve the education system and provide wider learning opportunities, because we believe education is the cornerstone for the development of the state and the nation,” he added.
The ceremony was also attended by the Principal of SMK Bandar Bintulu, Rubiah Taip, as well as its PIBG president, Edwin Wong and a representative from the police, ASP Julius Panai Anthony Paru.
At the ceremony, Pang also presented donations in the form of school bags to students who will sit for the SPM and STPM 2024 examinations.
