KUCHING: The National Geographic Learning English Programme was introduced to the students of SJK Chung Hua Batu 10 to enhance their academic and books were awarded as a complimentary from the programme.

Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang revealed that he had sponsored the books to contribute to the school in hopes that it would help the students to learn English.

“It is best for the school because it can enhance the students’ academics as well as complement the national syllabus in the learning of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects,” he said when presenting the sponsorship at the school here yesterday.

He added that the programme aimed to captivate students in learning English through actual events, stories, stories and adventures from around the world with real life graphics.

The component included six copies of eight titles (48 books), Teacher’s Edition, Big Ideas Big Book, Learning Masters, Big Ideas & Vocabulary Cards, Assessment Handbook, and Science Exam View CD-ROM. The set is called Solids, Liquids, and Gases Classroom Set, under the Physical Science Series, for Primary Four to Six.

“If the programme procures good results and outcomes, we will invest more in this kind of programme in 10th Mile under my constituency,” said Lo.

He further expressed that this programme would definitely be approved by other local representatives or assemblymen to encourage students in other schools in Sarawak to learn and improve their English.
