SIBU: Education transformation should be the main goal to ensure that students can excel in their education and able to compete globally.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the earnestness and high commitment of educators can bring changes towards the country’s education services.
“My advice (for educators) is to work with a sense of responsibility and sincerity without inserting any agenda because a negative personal agenda will damage an organisation,” he said.
Huang said this in his speech which was read by his representative, Anthony Tan Hieng Kiek during the Sarikei District Education Office Appreciation Ceremony for year 2022 at a renowned hotel here yesterday (Feb 18).
Huang, who is also the Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, was confident that the teachers, officials and staff at the Sarikei District Education Office had proven their commitment to produce various successes in 2022.
“I believe this recognition can motivate them to always prioritise excellence in carrying out their respective responsibilities,” he said.
He also noted that the organising of this ceremony every year was an appreciation by the District Education Office to all its staff who had shown excellent service quality in line with cultivating team work, high performance and integrity.
“This also includes all their services, contributions and sacrifices in executing their responsibilities as civil servants, both in carrying out official duties and active involvement in extracurricular and community activities,” he said.
Huang also took the opportunity to express his appreciation and thanks to a total of 28 retirees in 2022.
“Fundamentally, retirement is not an end, rather it is a change of a new phase in every person’s life. Retire from work, but not from life. Life is like riding a bicycle, you don’t fall off unless you stop pedalling,” he said.
