KUCHING: The Innovative and Creative Convention (ICC) conducted by ministry-level departments and agencies will enhance services and delivery, and benefit the state’s economic development.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah said such engagement can generate fresh innovative, creative ideas while also benefiting the ministry in a variety of ways.
“They include effective service delivery, reaching targets (KPI), resolving public complaints based on feedback, and having new ideas to replace traditional ways of doing things, which would save cost and time.”
“We will be able to achieve quality standards, which will improve our organisation’s reputation and raise our income,” he said at the closing of his Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development’s (MIPD) mini-ICC here, yesterday (Aug 30).
Uggah was hopeful that a platform will be established for ministry staff to showcase new and creative approaches to improve their workplace culture.
He added this is all the more important with the state government now implementing the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
“Let us all continue to work as a very cohesive, forward-looking and determined team ready to face any challenges in the next eight years.”
The convention was attended by eight teams, with team Ta ‘Rom emerging as champion. JKR Central Region Office was placed second, and Kuching Port Authority, third.
Also present was Deputy Minister for Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Majang Renggie, its Permanent Secretary Chiew Chee Yaw and state JKR director Richard Tajan.
