KUCHING: Police have issued eight compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Kuching recorded the most compounds issued with seven, and one in Miri.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Local Government issued 113 verbal, written and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.

On the SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,465 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 304 restaurants, supermarkets (187), banks (107), public markets (66), places of worship (57), leisure places (35), government offices (33), hawker stalls (30), construction sites (15), factories (12) and others (619).

Under Ops Benteng, 1,226 vehicles were inspected at seven roadblocks in six districts — two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
