KUCHING: The Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup (TSRC) Sarawak Zone women’s football competition will take place from July 27-31.
Eight teams from Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Miri are in the fray.
Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) vice-president Abdul Razak Saleh said Stadium Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and the Intan field in Kota Samarahan would be the venues for the five-day tournament.
“Before this, it was held in Miri but it was at the national level,” Abdul Razak told Arena Suara Sarawak.
“The competition is jointly organised by FAS and Sarawak Sports Corporation, and this (state level competition) is the first time.
“Hopefully, it will be organised every year and we urge the players to be better prepared.”
The Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup is a competition under national football governing body Football Association of Malaysia, and the national level competition is held at the end of this year. Dates and venues have not been set yet.
