KUCHING: The football championship, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg Cup will kick off on Nov 10.
A total of eight teams will take part in the inaugural championship.
According to technical committee chairman, Hamzah Puini, six teams had previously played in the K-League-Lea Sports Centre (LSC) 2018.
Meanwhile, two other teams are representatives from Lundu District namely Belia Lundu and Tanjong Datu, Lundu.
“Since eight teams are playing, the matches will straight away enter the quarterfinals round,” said Hamzah on Monday.
The first quarterfinal will take place on Nov 10, where the K-League-LSC 2018 champions, Axis FC will play against Tanjong Datu, Lundu at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya at 3.30pm. Enraz FC will take on SSN Sarawak at Padang D, Petra Jaya also scheduled at the same time (3.30pm).
Two more quarterfinals take place on Nov 11. KSK Satok against UiTM Sarawak at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya while the match between Rzurf Excellent and Belia Lundu will be played at Padang D, Petra Jaya. Both matches will start at 3.30pm.
Hamzah said the winning teams will advance to the semi-finals round on Nov 17 and 18. The final will be held on Dec 8.
