MIRI: A 39-year-old man flew through the air after being ejected from his four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle that was speeding along Jalan Bypass Taman Tunku about 11.30pm Sunday night (March 28).
While being treated at Miri Hospital the man identified as Chin Yaw Chu died from serious injuries around 10.35am on Monday.
According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu Chin’s vehicle went out of control, skidded off the road and rammed into a road divider.
Chin, who was alone in the vehicle, was driving towards the city centre from Taman Tunku.
“When the car went out of control, the man was ejected from the window of his spinning vehicle and thrown into a drain near a workshop at the area,” said Alexson.
A team of seven firemen from Miri fire station were deployed to the scene to get Chin’s body.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
