BINTANGOR: An elderly man, who had gone out hunting, was discovered dead in a nearby jungle on Friday (May 26) after being reported missing.

A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident took place in a jungle close to his residence at Rumah Gumba, Ulu Pedanum Pakan.

The missing person report was filed at 1.47pm on Friday (May 26).

The search and rescue (SAR) team, led by the operation commander, located the unconscious victim, identified as Tigoh Entili, 64, approximately one kilometre away from his longhouse.

Following the retrieval of the victim’s body, it was handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary actions.

The search operation concluded at approximately 5.45pm, marking the recovery of the victim’s body and its subsequent transfer to the police.
