KUCHING: An elderly man had his luck stars to thank for after he sustained only minor injuries when his sports utility vehicle (SUV) crashed and overturned last night (June 26).
The accident happened around 10.10 pm at Lorong Kempas 12, Jalan Tun Jugah, here.
Firefighters from Batu Lintang station were dispatched to the scene, about 5km away, after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle overturned in front of a junction and the injured driver had already been rescued out of the vehicle by members of the public.
The team only administered on-site treatment for the 62-year-old man before taking him to a private medical centre for further treatment.
