KUCHING: An early morning road accident near Chung Hua Middle School No 1 on Jalan Tabuan left an elderly man injured.

The incident, which occurred at 5am today (June 29), involved two vehicles and prompted a swift response from the Padungan Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found two cars involved in the collision.

The team immediately provided medical assistance to the elderly male, who was still inside one of the vehicles. They fitted him with a cervical collar and extricated him using a spine board.

The victim, who sustained injuries in the crash, was safely removed from the vehicle and transported to the hospital in an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle for further treatment.

The second individual involved in the accident was attended to by paramedics on-site.

Following the rescue, firefighters conducted a flushing operation to clear the road, ensuring safety for other road users.
