MIRI: An elderly man was killed in an accident near Jalan Bulatan Park here on Monday (Oct 11).
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident happened around 9.30am when the victim, identified as Tan Ah Siang, 63, was heading towards the Saberkas roundabout from the Edward Jeli roundabout.
“The victim is believed to have lost control of his four-wheel drive vehicle before crashing into a monsoon drain,” he said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Miri Hospital.
The victim’s body was taken to Miri Hospital’s morgue for further action and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
