MARUDI: An elderly woman has been reported missing after failing to return home from a farm at Lubok Amam.
The victim was identified as Nyawa Unjong, 87, from Rh Chabop Diau, Sungai Tarak.
According to a police report, Nyawa had left the longhouse at 10.15am on Wednesday (June 12) while carrying a large basket with the intention of going to the farm.
Since then, she has not returned home and that prompted her family to report the incident to the authorities.
Firefighters from Marudi station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call from the police at 3.27pm.
It was reported that the rescue teams are still en route to the scene to gather information and initiate the search and rescue (SAR) operation.
At the time of writing, Nyawa remains unaccounted for.
