Elderly woman receives aid from Hope Place

KUCHING: An elderly woman received aid and donation from Hope Place, at Kampung Haji Baki, here on yesterday.

Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan along with Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang visited the woman, Zubaidah Abdullah, 67, who was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She also suffers from leg problem and is currently on wheelchair.

Zubaidah lives with her husband, Suboh Hamid, 61, who used to be in the army and later worked as a security guard. He also has health problems as he has one kidney removed and is suspected to have heart disease.

According to Wan, the elderly couple is currently staying with their eldest child, who is married and has two schooling children. 

Hope Place donated to them special powdered milk and adult pampers every three months. Lo also gave contributions to the elderly couple during the visit.

Opening hours are from 8.30am to 5.30pm from Mondays to Fridays, and 8.45am to 12pm on Saturdays.
