KUCHING: Dewi Farisha Fazliman, along with her two daughters, has been relocated from the slums where she had been residing for years, following the intervention of the Malaysian Embassy in Manila, Philippines.
Dewi, who expressed her profound gratitude, is eagerly anticipating her return to Kuching.
“Alhamdulillah, we are steps away from coming back to Kuching. I have been waiting and yearning to come back for as long as I can remember,” she told New Sarawak Tribune.
Recounting her challenges, Dewi admitted to occasionally losing hope during her separation from her family.
“Living here with my daughters and without my family around is hard and sometimes I would even lose hope in coming back home,” she said.
Now safely housed in Manila, Dewi and her children are preparing for their impending journey home. The embassy has reportedly informed her that the process of their return will be expedited, taking possibly a week or two.
“I thank the embassy and the Malaysian Government for their effort to bring me back home. I hope everything will go well and we will be able to return soon,” she added.
