KUCHING: Civil servants need to continue improving their expertise on new technologies adopted in the state, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

He said this is because civil servants are given the responsibility to implement the policies and programmes planned by the government to achieve the desired goals.

“Not to mention now, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has started exploring new things that were not prominent before such as the digital economy and the new economy.

“Thus, this requires us to increase our expertise in understanding the technologies that have been adapted. We as the government machinery need to understand and simplify all implementation in the state,” he said.

He said this at the closing ceremony of the LANDAS Sports Carnival (LASSCAR) 2024 at Penview Convention Centre (PCC) here last night (Mar 2).

“With commitment and cooperation with one another, we will be able to further improve ourselves and move together towards our aim as stated in the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030,” he said.
