KUCHING: The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) imposed on Kampung Bintawa Ulu and Kampung Bintawa Tengah here was lifted yesterday (Mar 29).
This was announced by the State Disaster Management Committee in its daily Covid-19 update yesterday.
As reported by SDMC, the move was taken after no new cases were detected during the second screening conducted on all the villagers.
“The second screening did not detect any new positive case. In addition, there is no evidence that the infection is still spreading in the area.
“SDMC would like to thank all agencies and villagers for their cooperation in making this EMCO a success,” said SDMC.
Previously, SDMC announced that the village will be placed under EMCO effective from at 12.01am on March 16 to 11.59pm on March 29.
It said the decision was made in view of the increasing number of positive cases in the village.
The villages have a total of 4,064 residents in 769 households.
