KUCHING: A massage centre owner was today fined RM1,500 in default of two months’ jail for injuring two foreign workers last month.

Lim Kim Non, 69, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan to a charge framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries up to one year in prison or up to RM2,000 fine or both, upon conviction.

Lim committed the offence at a massage centre in Jalan Padungan here at about 11.30 am on Aug  28.

According to the facts of the case, a misunderstanding arose between the 50-year-old Chinese complainant and her employer. The dispute led to Lim kicking the complainant’s right waist.

Upon witnessing the incident, the complainant’s friend intervened and reprimanded Lim to stop his actions. However, he responded by punching the friend’s hand, causing him pain.

Both victims then sought treatment at a hospital and a police report was lodged by the victims.

The court heard that Lim acted in such a manner because he was angry with the complainant, who was also his lover of three years, for using his massage centre to have sex with her clients.
