KUCHING: Women, Early Childhood, and Community Well-being Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah is looking forward to a collaboration with Sabah Women Affairs Council (MPWS) through its secretariat, Sabah Women Affairs Department, to fight for women’s empowerment in Borneo.

She said that her ministry, Women and Family Department of Sarawak and Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKM) are open to work with MPWS as they share the same sentiment and aspiration to empower women.

“In the meeting earlier, we were able to exchange opinions about programmes that we have done over the years and we could see the similarities and differences in between of our programmes.

“The important thing about this courtesy call is to establish a relationship between us and hopefully will allow us to work together in the future to empower women in Sabah and Sarawak.

“Since we are neighbours and we have the same objective, vision and mission, I hope that it will strengthen our relationship with each other,” Fatimah said at a press conference after receiving a courtesy call from MPWS members at Wisma Wanita here today.
