KUCHING: Thirty local young entrepreneurs attended a two-day training programme themed ‘ChatGPT for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs): Enhancing Marketing and Business through Artificial Intelligence’ here Friday (Nov 3).

The training programme was organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS), in collaboration with the Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCGCCI).

ACCCIS vice president and KCGCCI president Datuk Tan Jit Kee graced the closing ceremony and presented certificates to all participants.

Earlier this year, ACCCIS received a grant of RM500,000 from Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the purpose of training and nurturing young entrepreneurs.

Part of the funding was used to organise the course which aims to empower SMEs.

The programme focused on developing young entrepreneurs, enabling them to harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve their marketing and business capabilities.

“In today’s fast-paced environment, businesses have realised that in order to stand out in the highly competitive market, they must continuously explore new methods and apply new technologies to improve their performance and competitiveness.

“The advent of ChatGPT presents transformative potential in various commercial fields, transcends beyond traditional customer services and communication into intelligent marketing and data analytics. This will open new horizons and prospects for businesses,” ACCCIS said in a statement.

Additionally, ACCCIS also expressed gratitude to Abang Johari for the support, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing a new generation of outstanding young entrepreneurs for the economic advancement of Sarawak.

The programme in Kuching is part of a broader initiative, with similar training sessions planned for young entrepreneurs in Sibu, Miri and Bintulu in the near future.
