KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak is set to empower the state’s youth through digital technology as it gears up for the Sarawak Career and Training (sCAT) Fair 2024 this weekend (October 5 to 6) at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre here.
Manager of Strategic Communication at AZAM Sarawak, Hassnal Hakim, said that this is aligned with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, which places a strong emphasis on technological advancement as a key factor in the state’s economic growth.
“AZAM fully supports the vision of PCDS 2030 in ensuring that Sarawak achieves high-
income state status. Through our participation in the sCAT Fair, we hope to help Sarawak’s
youth master the skills required in this digital era,” he said in a press release today..
The non-profit organisation will offer a range of interactive activities at the fair, including digital exhibitions, youth development programme sharing sessions, and opportunities for new members to join its youth arm, AZAM Young Souls (AYS). The aim is to enhance digital skills among Sarawakian youth and equip them for a future driven by technology.
AZAM’s participation at the sCAT Fair reflects its proactive approach to fostering digital literacy and promoting its various programmes and initiatives. By equipping young Sarawakians with the latest digital tools and knowledge, AZAM hopes to contribute significantly to the state’s long-term development goals under PCDS 2030.
For over four decades, AZAM Sarawak has worked to promote development communication and engage with communities, particularly in rural areas, to support Sarawak’s progress. The organisation continues to target youth, community leaders, and government frontliners in its mission to enhance understanding of government policies and encourage active participation in state development.
