KUCHING: Parents are warming in to their children’s vaccination because they want the children to be protected against the virus once they return to school in October.
According to Pantai Damai assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, the vaccination programme involving 16 and 17-year-old teenagers in his constituency has received very positive response from both parents and their children.
“The Telaga Air Health Clinic located in the area is one of the first PPVs to provide vaccinations to this age group.
“Following the success of the adult vaccination programme, adolescents are likewise eager to receive the vaccines to protect them against the Covid-19 virus,” he said on Sunday (Sept 12).
Dr Abdul Rahman pointed out that the vaccination programme was one of the many government measures to combat the Covid-19 virus.
“At the same time, it can also increase the confidence of the recipients in their ability to adapt to living in the new norm,” he said.
He urged the local community to continuously adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government to help curb the virus.
“For people who have not received the vaccine, please register immediately as the vaccine is proven to help reduce the severity of the Covid-19 infection,” he stressed.
