KUCHING: Perhaps the vigorous vaccination programme done in Sarawak has managed to bring down the number of Covid-19 deaths to zero, in spite of the hundreds of positive cases recorded daily.
In making this speculation, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing pointed out that on Friday Sarawak recorded 423 new positive cases but no new fatalities.
“Could this be the result of aggressive vaccinations by the Health Ministry (MoH) in Sarawak?
“If there is a correlation between vaccination and death by Covid-19, it means Sarawak’s vaccination rollout plan is the correct approach in containing this deadly virus,” he said in a statement today.
He said MoH must study this correlation so that time was not wasted by implementing all kinds of strategies such as the movement control order (MCO), conditional movement control order (CMCO), and so on.
“Just concentrate on the acquisition of those approved vaccines and plan an affective vaccination rollout programme,” he said.
Masing also stressed that politics and religion should be left out in the fight against Covid-19.
