KUCHING: An engineer and a mechanic were both late for work yesterday after their paths crossed at about 7.45am.
The engineer was coming out of a lane at Tabuan Laru heading to Demak Laut when he collided with the mechanic, who was speeding to get past the green traffic light.
The mechanic said he was coming out of a lane through the yellow box when the other driver overtook the other vehicles to rush through the green light and hit his car. Both he and the mechanic said they were rushing to work.
The engineer ended up in the driveway of a house while the mechanic drove his car past the drain to hit the side of a wall. The mechanic sustained chest injuries and managed to climb out of the car himself.
The house owner said he was having breakfast when he heard a loud bang. He came out to find a youth struggling to get out of his car near the drain.
The front portions of both cars were badly damaged.
