After completing his Secondary School studies, he went for further studies overseas, and graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Civil Engineering) degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Yusuf is always actively involved in programmes and activities organised for DUN members for N41 (Kuala Rejang) and N42 (Semop).

With “rakyat first”in mind, Yusuf said as his campaign strategy he has three main things laid out for implementation in Tanjung Manis. Firstly, because it is a rural area, infrastructure development is foremost; secondly, education, with focus on the repair and maintenance of dilipidated schools, building of new schools including technical schools.

Thirdly, he plans to raise the socio-economic standard of the people with focus on the fishing and agricultural industries. Thus he needs the mandate from the rakyat and also plans to work with the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) members to continue with the development in the constituency.
