SARIKEI: Jalan Buan has now been opened to road users, offering a smoother route and improving traffic flow.

Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability and Member of Parliament for Sarikei highlighted that the road upgrade aims to alleviate traffic congestion, especially at the junction of Jalan Buan and Jalan Kelupu.

Huang initiated the request to upgrade Jalan Buan through the Meradong and Julau District Council following public concerns about the hazardous state of the road.

“In upgrading this road, our goal is to provide the residents of Bintangor with safer, more convenient, and comfortable journeys,” stated Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii in a release today (Oct 23).

Gung Chiu Kiong, representing Huang, led the team from the Sarikei P208 People’s Service Center on a site visit to the completed project on Jalan Buan this morning.

“The project encompassed road widening and the maintenance of road shoulders to accommodate lanes for cars and motorcycles,” the statement read.
