KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Faculty of Medicine and Health Science organised a Cat Spa project recently.

The free cat grooming service was participated by 20 people where people could book an appointment for a makeover of their cats and a booking needs to be done within a few days before the event.

In a statement from the faculty, it said medical and nursing students trimmed the claws of 20 cats and bathed the felines, among others, from 2pm to 5.30pm.

Project director Muhammad Adam Zekri and facilitator Siti Zaleha Raduan were assisted by committee members consisted of medical and nursing students.

“I hope that the importance of empathy, especially among doctors, nurses and policemen, has been highlighted.

“I’m proud that Group 8 PPD1041 helped to spread the message of kindness towards all, particularly animals,” Muhammad Adam said.

The free cat grooming service also aimed to enhance soft skills such as teamwork and communication through volunteerism.
